U.S. Paralympics
design objectives
Although it has since been redesigned, for almost three years this mark identified United States Paralympic athletes and staff. When the International Paralympic Committee redesigned its core mark, the U.S. mark needed to be updated to reflect this change. I utilized the base design of a mark initially developed for the USOC by Nike. This core design allowed the U.S. Paralympic Committee to align itself more closely with the U.S. Olympic Committee's identity while still providing an unique icon to identify our Paralympic athletes and the programs associated with the movement.
