design objectives
We wanted to take the opportunity to not only promote the Jr. Olympic Skills competition for kids, but also make potential sponsors of the program aware of the impact they could have. Sponsors of this program would be directly contributing to young athletes as well as communicating to their parents — consumers of their products and services — about the magnanimous nature of their sponsorship.
of note …
This ad campaign ran in consecutive pages of the Sports Business Journal, which has an audience of over 50,000 readers. This campaign utilized three consecutive 1/3 page ads highlighting Olympic medalists, with personal quotes and childhood photos. The final ad was an island ad featuring a young competitor from the 2005 Jr. Olympic Skills competition hosted at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
